RESOURCES for MUSLIM WOMEN 1
I am usually faced with clients who lose their support systems and need culturally appropriate support. Here are two organizations that work towards equity for women facing gender-based violence and inequality:
CANADIAN COUNCIL OF MUSLIM WOMEN
The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) has launched its new gender-based violence project titled: Addressing barriers for Muslim women and girls facing GBV. This project will develop a systemic change strategy and tools to address barriers Muslim women face in dealing with GBV. This project will also provide services coordination for Muslim women facing GBV. [Note: They have a bursary program for women in financial emergencies.]

FEDERATION of MUSLIM WOMEN
FMW is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and respect for human rights, equity and justice. FMW is a grassroots voice of diverse Muslim-Canadian women reaching out to strengthen relationships, create opportunities for collaboration and build healthy communities.
